Technology has been part of us today. The progress improvement of technology has assisted us in many ways, including during teaching and learning session. Here comes a big question, is technology in classroom would make a good friend or simply an unwanted attention-driver?
The benefits of technology are very significant to everyone. Firstly, the usage of devices allow students to use content-filtered laptops during class. Besides, devices give student immediate access to wealth of information. In addition, students are responsible for their own learning since assignments are given online. They can also share work within class instantly. As for teachers, they can collect and assess work from students online. Furthermore, some teachers even take attendance by using online system.
Surely, usage of technology also brings about the drawbacks. Devices may cause too much distraction to students, where they could not resist from playing online games or get into the social media. Next, the maintainance of devices is a burdensome to limited technology staffs. Plagiarism has also been a significant problem too, due to unlimited Internet access. Last but not least, students have become overly-dependent on devices and the Internet.
No matter what the technology is giving us, we are the game changer. It is we who make it right or wrong. What would you say?
